Jim Gildea has been fishing bass tournaments in New England for the past two decades. During that time he’s been Angler of the Year on a number of trails, including NEBA of Mass, Massachusetts Bass Federation, Northern Bass, and NEBA of NH. Jim has qualified for the TBF Nationals as a boater a record five times. He also won the Mass Bass Federation State Championship three times, on three separate lakes – Champlain, Hudson River, and Lake Winnipesaukee.

Jim’s expertise is primarily in the area of finesse fishing. He was one of the first anglers in New England to embrace the drop shot and light line fishing in the late 90’s and he developed a reputation for his knowledge of electronics and sonar. Expertise in this area led to becoming a writer for Gary Yamamoto’s InsideLine online magazine. Over the years he has had over 25 articles published on the GYCB website. Jim has also written many articles for tournament trails and other fishing organizations. Being a skilled finesse fisherman produces consistent results – in 2016 Jim cashed checks in 13 out of 14 tournaments.

Sponsored by Reynolds Garage and Marine, St Croix Rods, and Viscosity Bowstrings. Jim has also written for Gary Yamamoto’s InsideLine online magazine. Prior to focusing on bass fishing, Jim founded several companies in the Boston area, including Aegis Associates, which he sold in 2007. He and his wife Carol divide their time between Boston and Colorado.
